The clock tower near the lifeboat station is a significant landmark in Swanage Bay
and provides an interesting vertical in a landscape of horizontals. The roof of the
building in the foreground leads the eye in to the picture through the frame of the
open centre of the tower to the chalk cliffs beyond. Complementary colours of
orange and turquoise blue which are fundamental to the image are mixed to
create the neutral colours in the building and the distant coastline.
