A gorgeous, enclosed harbour with the slash of red of the taxi boats is the central
image of this painting about the island of Hydra. Using a limited palette of blue, white
and pale orange I have attempted to convey the sense of enclosure, the town stacked
up round the basin. Close up details are juxtaposed with wider vistas to play with the
space – each image linked with small visual devices, moving the eye round the picture
and back to the central, more open space.
