The idea of a visual diary where incidental images provide a border for the central
image which encapsulates the spirit of the place is one I am interested in exploring. This
image of Athens has a particular colour bias of warm creams and oranges relieved by
the dark greens of cypresses and palm trees. The fierce sunlight on the urban
environment conveys a slightly oppressive atmosphere. It is a city of hard edges where
strong shadows are cast.
