Across the bay on the Greek island of Hydra the various sized houses stack up the
hillside forming a structure of interlocking shapes. The painting explores bands of colour
and tone, from the silken ripples of the sea reflecting the honey coloured buildings to the
dark area of the trees and bushes framed against the sky. Horizontal clouds break up the
blue echoing the movement and variation in the water.
